I Held Her Heart, a poem
I held her heart,
Her soul in my arms.
The embrace was the face
Of reality.
A river of love
Cried so gently through her eyes.
The cold was intangible,
The night unseen.
But warmth and light was our
Sweet by and by,
Friendship our tomorrow.
